Elements of Stitched Shibori

The term "shibori" encompasses a range of dye resist techniques: stitching, clamping, pole-wrapping. In these two session we will  concentrate on stitched shibori alone:  on the first day we will learn several basic stitch patterns in samplers, branching out into designing with those elements. We will use traditional indigo dye bath for classic blue. The second session will be a week later, after you have had a chance to go home and stitch up some of your own ideas.  We will gather for two hours to dye them and discuss our results.
