When I was 9 years old I painted paper doll dresses with undivided attention and with passion. My mother saved these early artworks while she sent my brothers comic books and baseball cards to the paper drives of those days. Flash forward several decades and I’ve used those early designs to create full-size paper dress sculptures. They honor the past, open the portal to the present and ask the question, “What did you do as a child that made the hours pass like minutes?” |
