We are starting out the new year with a great program of innovative textile art by Tim Gonchoroff, the current recipient of the Tilly Marchwinski Award at HCCC. The award is given by CHH to a resident artist at HCCC who is a loom weaver. Tim fits the bill!
Tim is a mixed media artist from Virginia and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft where he is experimenting with vinyl billboard and other plastics as a weaving material. For CHH, his presentation will discuss his natural dye projects in New York, Norway, and Joshua Tree as well as the work he’s making as a current Artist-in-Residence.
If you have dabbled in using recycled materials in your weaving, basket making, knitting or spinning, bring it along for show and tell.
