This article appeared in the September/October 2017 issue of Handwoven on page 7. Mary is shown at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts demonstrating how ikat is woven. CHH also held a dyeing session for the curator of the show in order for them to have samples for display along side the “Colors of the Oasis: Central Asian Ikats” exhibit. Connie prepared the ikat warp to be woven in the demo and the in-progress warps that helped museum visitors understand the many steps in the process.
