Livestock Show

Big BannerEach year members of Contemporary Handweavers of Houston and other area guilds provide hours of volunteer work demonstrating weaving and spinning (and a variety of interlacements such as knitting, crocheting and kumihimo) to the thousands of visitors to Agventure at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. For 2013, we will be demonstrating from February 25 through March 17 on weekdays from 10-2 and on weekends from 10-5. If you would like to volunteer check this article for more information.

The HLS is one of CHH’s annual demonstration venues. Our organization gives many hours of spinning and weaving demonstrations using wool, mohair, angora rabbit and llama. This is an opportunity to educate the community Jane does krokbragdconcerning the use of natural fibers through a wool-to-wardrobe fashion show, educational demonstrations, and exhibits. Fleece is provided for spinning.
