Sara Learned To Weave

A friend gave Sara her own  little loom.  Then we worked side by side.  I got quite abit more work done after that.

Way to go, DeeDee! This reminds me of when I wove the fabric for my wedding dress. It is a big project to weave and then make a wedding dress, but I remember that doing mine became the only thing that kept me sane as the wedding got closer – I guess I had a few nerves about the prospect of being married. This is going to be a gorgeous dress. Good luck with the rest of the project.

I would love to see your dress. It is fun to know who made their own dresses, let alone wove the fabric too. See you next week!

I am excited. I want to have a bridal portrait made while she is in town for the final fitting.

This is certainly the Sara I know – very much in charge of her life. I’m really excited (and somewhat terrified) about this sewing project. I got out the pile of patterns we’ve collected last night and pondered what pieces of pull from which pattern to get the desired result. I also printed out a couple copies of the dress Sara likes and I’m still pondering the draping part of the project. I’ve got the back pretty well figured out; now to nail down the front….
