Sara and Ryan had the most charming, loving wedding ceremony on Saturday July 25, 2009. I didn’t want the weekend to be over. We all had a wonderful time together. Love and support from friends and family made the wedding a magical weekend.

The Happy Couple
The bride and groom are so happy! The photographs I have are snapshots taken on my little digital camera. When we get official portraits I will post details of the dress. Thank you all for tuning in to this very special project!

The wedding day has arrived. The families will gather at the Park Of Roses on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. For everyone who has followed the wedding dress project, photographs from the wedding will be posted very soon. I can’t wait for everyone to finally see the dress on the young women it was created for.
I have plenty of tissues and one of my Grandma’s hankies! I am ready.

Oh Yeah - She Graduated With Honors This Month Too!
In the mean time, Sara graduated from OSU with her Bachelors in Music Education. With the wedding less than a month away, she has been student teaching, interviewing for teaching postitions and looking for summer work! I am exhausted just thinking about all of it!

Karen and I are pretty pleased with ourselves. Sara took the gown, wrapped in tissue – back to Columbus this Monday. I will not be posting any “finished photographs on the blog until after the ceremony. The Groom (yes – you Ryan) has been checking the blog ! We don’t want to spoil the surprise. So – if you want a glimpse of the finished dress complete with the most lovely veil, e-mail me privately and I could let you see it.

Karen had to pry it from me. To make it worse she said she had sometime to hack it up. That hurt!

There has been a whirlwind of activity here, hence I am very behind on the blogging. About two weeks ago I delivered the bolt of fabric to Karen. The funny thing is, I had become attached to it just the way it was.

I can’t take pictures of everything. However, I have an image that will forever be in my mind.
Sara came home to check out a job offer last week. When she saw the fabric she took one end and proceeded to wind herself up in it! She twirled and squealed and said “I love it – it is beautiful and soft!” She has never liked anything too rough and scratchy.
Now the fabric heads to Karen for sewing.

When the cloth is off the loom it is not finished yet. Grey goods is the term used to describe a piece of cloth that has not been wet finished. The photos show a couple of shots of the silk fresh off the loom. I admired it in the light of the sun room. It looks like a glorious heap of Laundry !
